It's been five months since the last post here on old R.O.P. dot com. HTML code work is a bit confusing and that would be the reason for the delay. Show at Obrien's Pub tomorrow night with Deathamphetamine, The Arkham White, and Rohirrim. Throughout the month of December, R.O.P. on Gayspace will be showcasing "It's a Reign of Pestilence Christmas" in it's entirety. www.myspace.com/reignofpestilence. Also, in production is a live Bogart's show release from last winter. Stay tuned for more info. Until then, listen to Crowbar.
06/16/08. The Continuation of The Rot.
Thanks to Leech Eater for opening and all who came out and supported at the Bogarts show this past Friday the 13th. Lot's of familiar faces and friends. Not a lot to comment on at this point as things are at quite a solid standstill. Still having fun though. Next show is in North Berwick, Maine on July 10.
03/23/08. Rot On.
The Audio for "Live In A Dive II" has been released and can be found on the Audio Page Under The Gayspace MP3 Player. The whole EP is available for free online play and free download. Next show will be April 5 at Bogarts/Our place in Bridgewater. These shows tend to get crowded so get ready for detuned basic but rhythmic hardcore breakdowns and plenty of mosh-pitting with your hardcore friends. Practice your breakdown moves in a mirror to ensure you'll be the shit when you "get a circle goin" at the show.
03/05/08. Side Projects Galore.
Some side projects are in the birthing stage: John Stamos and The Rippers and Deathcurse(Ex-Skulleton). Stay tuned for more info on these projects. R.O.P. news.... The show page has been updated with shows in Bridgewater, Allston, Worcester and Long Island. More spring shows are being booked so check back periodically for updates.
1/25/08. Ligamental Tearing and Disc Malfunction of the Human Jaw Joint.
Thanks to Leech Eater, Can't Kill Katie and Hoodrat for putting on a good show last night at Hotel Vernon. We are still slowly working on recording the follow up album and playing a few shows here and there. Things have been slow this winter in R.O.P. as I have been nursing through a bizarre and painful injury.
09/29/07. Everyone Has Aids.
Recording sessions for the next record have officially started. A ton of work is to be done at this point as far as recording is concerned. More material is being written and learned at this time also. The next show is October 26 at Club Whiplash in Stoughton with Leech Eater, Geezerkill, and Male Blood. Come out to this show and keep the scene alive.
08/21/07. Vinyl Incineration.
We have been on a well needed break for the month of August. Once September hits, recording sessions for the next LP will take place. We've put this off long enough. It's time to suffer the pain and frustration of recording again. Fall shows are also being booked throughout New England. There are still a few more first pressing copies of the last album available. Don't be scared, shoot us an email if you're interested. It's only 5 bucks. We'll mail one out your way, just like things in the independant music scene were taken care of before the evolution of the internet ruined everything.
05/28/07 A Rottastic Weekend.
"The Birth of Failure" is set for release on June 23 at Club Whiplash in Stoughton, Mass. The album is approaching the final stages of post production and mastering at this time. Approximately 100 copies of this record will be pressed for now. So grab one when it's available. Tour dates are still being added and negotiated so stay tuned. After the "Status Read Tour" we begin recording for the next already written yet untitled full length record. Lots of work for R.O.P. lies ahead.
04/07/07 Welcome To The Massachusetts DMV. BRING MONEY.
The instruments on our next release, "The Birth of Failure" are completed. This album contains many tracks of earlier written material that has been deemed recording worthy by the members of this band. They are good songs, but we have since moved on from that phase, and have a new album written and ready to record in May. More vocal recordings on the birth to take place soon. More shows are being added daily, so stay tuned. Catch us in a Hell Hole near you.
03/17/07 The search for a dream is complete.
Our next release is still being worked on. We are very close to wrapping up the recording process for the album.
02/05/07 The Search For A Dream Continues.
Upcoming release, "The Shit Sessions" is in progress. This CD will contain 4 studio tracks and an unknown number of live tracks. Spring shows are being booked, so stay tuned for more dates.
12/27/06 Step By Step.
Christmas is over and so is the production of "It's A Reign of Pestilence Christmas!" Anyways, we go back to the studio now to finish "The Cleansing Sessions Demo." Right now the recording process is about 70% percent finished.
Here is an email I just recieved about the Christmas Record.
Christmas Carols at the Domestic Violence Shelter.
yes...your fine CD of the psycho christmas carols was received at the domestic violence shelter in hashville, i mean, nashville, tennessee... where women who were mauled by pit bulls, women who like to fight with food, and women whose evening gowns were set on fire while they were wearing them...other such traditions as " gramma got run over by a reindeer" were sung at a prior party. we all know what family holidays are REALLY like...the song " wrath of jesus" was sung many times by myself, a warped semi religious fanatic who also loves heavy metal songs. just change that part cuz he was killed by jews, to, he was born to kick your ass, and you've got a legit christian metal hit.
you retarded fuckers. thanks again for my fave christmas present.
Sammi
12/09/06 Jesus will destroy the world around us.

11/30/06 Jingle Bells, Hang Yourself.
"It's a Reign of Pestilence Christmas!" The record is set for release on December 10. It will be available by mail and it is FREE to our mailing list members. If you are not on the mailing list already and would like a copy of the priceless record, send us an email with your address and we will gladly hook you up with the album and upcoming releases already in progress.
10/29/06 Happy Halloween.
A full length record/demo is in the works, which will be followed by the recording of an already written official E.P. Also in the works, the side project self titled album "Copremesis".
10/05/06 Gayspace Sucks.
Did you know that everytime you enter that site, approximately 15 to 17 parasites enter your computer? It happens everytime. Anyways... We are still writing material for the E.P. and are starting to record another free demo. The next demo will contain "Die Already Micheal Jackson", "One Eyed Willy's Treasure", and "Upon The Night".
09/16/06 The evolution of an untalented band.
On a forward motion of writing new material. This new stuff is interesting and much more challenging to play. Out with the old and in with the new. This winter should spawn an E.P. As of now, 300+ copies of the latest demo have been moved about the U.S. It came to our attention, that "Prostitute Skin Suit" ripped up the airwaves in New York this past August. For now, an ongoing continuation of writing better music, followed by recording and followed by shows this spring time.
08/29/06 Oh Jeez, Battel Row! Take a left after the Quakah House!
Back from New York tour. Thanks to Gina and Meredith of Sick Promotions for everything. No more R.O.P. shows until October 28 in Torrington CT. We have other projects to start working on in order to achieve funds for more touring. The all time record for worlds greatest rot was set in Brooklyn this weekend. 9 hours on the side of the road in what appeared to be Mexico. I'm still going through a bunch of priceless R.O.P. footage from years ago. More details will be posted when I am finished. I am also working on mastering a live jazz performance of what I will entitle "The Bryan Maher Trio", recorded in Boston on Saturday April 24, 2004 with Lauren Hendrix on upright bass and Tony Pecorelli on drums. If anyone would like a copy, email me. I'll hook it up when I'm finished.
08/08/06 Worst season of the year.
If anyone would like a copy of the latest demo, send an email to the contact link on the top of the screen with your mailing address and I will be more than happy to mail one your way. I'm in the Post Office every day anyways. Good news too, we have more demos just about set to be released as soon as a little problem heals itself.
08/02/06 Summer is Death.
It's way too hot outside for proper human existance. Still looking for a show August 26th NYC. If you throw enough shit against the wall some of it is going to stick.
07/14/06 Waiting for God to take his foot off of my neck.
A classic quote from the man Marc Botel. Confirmed shows for New York in the end of August are posted. Demos are being made and handed out once again. I had this website reformed in frame format the other day and due to problems I can't understand with different internet browsers not showing the site correctly, I am forced to remain in the original format until this problem is figured out.
07/02/06 All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
EP recording sessions are set for the end of October. New material is being written and rehearsed now and throughout the rest of the summer. More local shows are coming and we invade New York at the end of August. Demos are almost complete of older material. All that's left to do are vocals on 4 more tunes. I think my air conditioner is finally meeting it's maker. I have been fearing this.
06/03/06 The World Breeds A Mass of Shit.
This website will go under reconstruction soon. If you like it the way it is now.... that's tough fucking monkey balls shit. It will be changed regardless of your efforts to save it. I have now learned the codes I need in order to rebuild. I am the webmaster and I hold the key to this unvisited website's html code. Try to fuck with me and you will be destroyed. Cryptopsy strip club show in NH tonight.
05/30/06 Defecating Once A Day Keeps the Doctor Away.
Our return back to the stage will be on June 10 at Heffernans in Woonsocket R.I. After a four month rebuilding hiatus, we are ready to get back into this piece of shit that we call a music a scene. Let the failure begin.
05/12/06 Everything We Do As A Band is Wrong.
R.O.P. is currently recording and mastering a four song demo for handouts. We apologize to you all who listened to/still owns last years demo. We didn't know what we were doing with that music and set ourselves back at least ten years by distributing it. A bunch of no talent ass clowns should have NO ACCESS to recording equipment by any means. If you still have a copy of R.O.P. CDR demo #1, we ask you to please go for a ride in your car, put the cd in your CD player and the second you hear the first tune, immediately eject it and throw it out the window with extreme anger disgust and disapointment at the lack of talent contained within. Thank You. We do not encourage littering in any way, but that demo belongs on the side of the road covered in piss somewhere. I hope a few are covered in shit also. Not dog shit, human shit.
05/03/06 R.I.P.
Frank Leslie Withey 1955-2006. My guitar teacher from high school era, died unexpectedly at his home in West Bridgewater on April 24. A tribute concert in his honor will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston. R.I.P. Frank. You will be missed.
04/16/06 Breaking bread with Jesus.
Easter Sunday. The day that Jesus Christ arose from his grave to feed on the flesh of the living.
04/09/06 There are some things money can't buy.
A year has passed. 18 shows were played. One member has quit the band. 6500 dollars for studio rent. 2000 dollars for recordings. 6450 dollars expenses to play shows. 550 dollars for a box trailer. 300 dollars for merch. 60 dollars for webhosting. Relentless failure as an independant band......... Priceless. There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's MasterCard.
03/30/06 To Be or Not To Be.
For the past month or so, I have been putting my endless musical ideas together into a piece. Its title will remain undisclosed at this point to protect its originality. The long awaited idea was originally a dream of our former bass player, Joe Matta, now it has been brought into real life. The music for the ending movement is still under construction and should be done fairly soon. We have clocked the piece at about 9 mins so far and it will end around the 10 1/2 min. mark. This is one of my most interesting musical creations so far in this life and I am proud to be bringing it to life with ROP and eventually sharing it with you all.
Recording news.........The 5 song EP idea has been changed into an 11 song LP. Quite possibly even 12 songs. Further discussion will take place about the issue. Artwork for the record is under construction at this time. I am undergoing the process of purchasing my own home studio to eliminate any problems with recording. This will mark the birth of our own record label (name undisclosed) and the new beginning sessions for the ROP LP. I will eventually be searching for bands to sign to our label. Joe's official replacement on bass arrives next week and we can start getting back to rebuilding this band into an independant empire of Eastern Massachusetts metal.
03/05/06 Black Man To Peter Pan.
As many of you may already have heard, Joe Matta officially quit Reign of Pestilence on February 4, 2006. No hard feelings. Bass lines for the EP have been taken over by myself, and when April arrives we welcome Marc Botello to take over. This will start a rebirth of ROP. So, since we are at a new beginning point, here is a list of every song created so far in the past few years. Even the ones that have been trashed and/or shelfed will be listed.(SONGS STILL PLAYED)Upon The Night, Decay By Failure, Prostitute Skin Suit, Noric Law(revised version), Death By Wall of Sound, One Eyed Willy's Treasure, Pest(Musca Domestica revised version), Black Heart, Empty Tombs of Unopened Graves, Section 8, Broken Neck, Die Already Micheal Jackson, Eat Your Children, Hatred Part III, Drug Monster, Jisi, Wrath of Worlds,(SHELFED AND TRASHED SONGS)Invaders From Mars, Sadistic, Blatent Disreguard, Tears From Hell, Issue #4 To Save The Day, Circus of Pain, Rabies, Wrotting, 312, Return to Haddonfield, Apocalypse, Hatred Part I, Hatred Part II, Reign of Pestilence. The last 14 songs are almost guaranteed to never see the light of day again. They are considered "stepping stones" to have gotten us to where we are now.
02/21/06 Crushing Death.
All the drum tracks have been finally been completed. Two bass tracks are complete and a few guitar tracks are almost complete. The recording process will finish soon now. Get some fucking chips and salsa, Mastodon DVD release today. Also, listen to Nile.
02/16/06 Ye Intruders Beware.
Over a month has passed and we are still working on the EP. A few hours of recording every week or two on Saturdays is giving us time to properly analyze everything on the record. We have backtracked quite a bit so far and are redoing some of the tracks. Hopefully, the drums will be completed this weekend. Other than that... be patient, the record is coming. Patience is a big part of this life.
01/09/06 Constellations.
The drums were tracked on two songs this weekend. The tracks have good tempos and great sound quality. Next session will hopefully finish the drums (3 more tracks) and bass tracking will begin. We are analyzing sound to the full extent. It's the little precise things that make a great record.
01/06/06 Look into the sky.
"I originally named this song Overkill, but now I've decided to change it to Die Already Michael Jackson." N.G. Hope everyone had a good New Year Celebration. Now it's time to start making records. Recording sessions for record one begin tomorrow. More info tomorrow night.
